Seven awards for Nagamandala
Critically acclaimed Kannada film ‘Nagamandala’ bagged seven top honours at the seventh year Aryabhata film awards announced recently. Veteran U.S Vadiraj will receive life time achievement award for his long years of service to Kannada films. The first best film, best actor Prakash Rai, actress Vijayalakshmi, supporting actress Jayasree, best director T S Nagabharana, best cameraman G S Bhasker, and best upcoming actor Mandya Ramesh all figure for the film ‘Nagamandala.’ Announcing the awards, the secretary . of Aryabhata Samkrithika Samsthe, H L N Rao, said the maximum of awards were selected by a jury of 10 members from leading Kannada and English newspapers under the chairmanship of senior journalist C Sitaram. The 7th annual film awards will be held in last week of May at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ananthkumar will be the chief guest on the occasion.
