Panel on film industry soon

BANGALORE, Nov 3
A 16-member committee will he constituted to implement various measures aimed at promoting Kannada film industry in the State.
According to a press release from the Kannada Film Producers’ Association President C V L Sastri, the committee will comprise two representatives each from associations of directors, artistes, exhibitors, workers and Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. Noted Kannada film producer Parvathamma Rajkumar will be a special invitee on the panel, the note said.
The decision to constitute a committee was taken at a meeting held here between representatives of the film industry and Information and Publicity Department Director K V R Tagore on October 31.
The committee will set up norms for compulsory screening of Kannada films in all theatres, giving preference to Kannada films, revision of entry fee at cinema halls and timely payment of distributor’s share by exhibitors.
