NEW DELHI, Nov. 4.
The Union Home Ministry today constituted a three-member committee to see the Hindi film “Zakhm which was referred to it by the Censor Board for giving clearance.
The Home Secretary, Mr. B. P Singh, set up the panel, comprising a Joint Secretary, a representative of the Maharashtra Government and an Intelligence Bureau official, to give its opinion on the film, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and set against the backdrop of the 1992-93 communal riots in Mumbai.
The film was found ‘sensitive” by the Censor Board and referred it to the Home Ministry for clearance. Last week, Mahesh Bhatt said his new film mirrors the composite culture of India and has autobiographical overtones but no political agenda behind it.
