BANGALORE:
Hollywood blockbuster Titanic will have to take a short break in Bangalore. Galaxy theatre, which is showing the multiple Oscar winner will not be able to screen the movie till Monday as directed by the Karnataka High Court, following reports of non-compliance with the Karnataka Cinema (Regulation) Rules
On Thursday evening, the theatre was served an order by the district magistrate to put an end to the shows on the basis of reports submitted by the assistant commissioner, Bangalore, and a complaint filed by a former chief secretary. This notice was challenged in the High Court on Friday.
The district magistrate refused to permission when the theatre authorities approached for an electrical fitness certificate, stating that it has not rectified the air conditioner and repaired seats. Further, the projector operators do not have licences, the court said.
The assistant commissioner, Bangalore Urban, and the tahsildar, Bangalore North had earlier imposed certain conditions regarding the facilities a theatre should have.
