Interrogating Disciplinary Frameworks: The idea is to examine the nature of current research in India and its relationship with the boundaries of the disciplines. The aim is to revisit disciplinary debates and acquaint ourselves with the different interests and questions that researchers bring to bear on their material or area of study.

The student body of the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society (CSCS), Bangalore, is organizing its annual Young Researchers’ Workshop on 3 and 4 March, 2007. This is an exclusive student initiative with the aim of creating and bringing together a research student peer group. This event is designed as a conference with a series of panels where the participants present papers, writing in progress or projects that they have been working on. The respondents will be drawn from CSCS faculty and the participants. This will be followed by a concluding panel where senior scholars will discuss and respond to the broader questions raised at the conference. The theme for this year’s Young Researchers’ Workshop is ‘Interrogating Disciplinary Frameworks’. The idea is to examine the nature of current research in India and its relationship with the boundaries of the disciplines. The aim is to revisit disciplinary debates and acquaint ourselves with the different interests and questions that researchers bring to bear on their material or area of study.
