Position available for Research Consultant in Integrated Science Education

Centre for Contemporary Studies, Indian Institute of Science (CCS-IISc), Bangalore, is looking for a Research Consultant with Ph.D or equivalent research experience, preferably with a natural science background and having knowledge of history and philosophy of science. Knowledge of social sciences would be an additional qualification.

The job involves development of Integrated Research Programmes in collaboration with CCS-IISc, Centre for the Study for Culture and Society (CSCS), Bangalore, and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune (IISER-Pune).

Operationalizing of the project would involve interviews with scientists and social scientists across India, documentation, assisting in the preparation of a strategy paper with recommendations for the field, compilation of bibliographies, and coordinating national/international workshops and consultations.

The offer is for one year at present, starting June 15, 2009. Consolidated honorarium will be in the range of 30,000-40,000 per month commensurate with experience.
