The CSCS Fellowships Programme began in 2002 to make its substantial library and faculty resources available to a range of researchers outside the institution.

Visiting Fellows
CSCS provides affiliation to Indian and international researchers for varying periods of time. In addition CSCS also invites academics to interact with faculty and students and to present their work at the Centre.

Work Experience

Coordinated the preparation (module-writing) of the Gender Studies Course offered by the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society at Christ College (Bangalore) in 2009

Co-taught the Introduction to Cultural Studies course offered by the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society at Christ College (Bangalore) in 2008

Co-organised the Prakriti Foundation’s seminar/festival on female sexuality, titled “Stree: Sharira” in March 2007 in Chennai

Was as a member of the curatorial team that organized the Prakriti Foundation’s annual Indian documentary film festival (“One Billion Eyes”) in the years 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Completed a project copyediting a book titled Dalits in the Dravidian Land, for Navayana Publishers, Chennai

Edited a manual on schizophrenia for SCARF (Schizophrenia Research Foundation), Chennai

Worked as a freelance editor for Orient Longman, Chennai, after having attended their editorial training workshop. Have completed one project, proofreading a publication titled Engaging with the world: Reflections on India’s foreign policy

Copy editing, proofreading and net research for Standard Press Design Solutions

Part-time copy editor with East-West Books; helped edit their journal Indian Review of Books (2001)

 

Current Project and Extra Curricular Work  

·     FORD/SEPHIS programme of Sexualities and Modernities in the South 2008-2009 – Final paper titled ““Public Women” and “Obscene” Body-Practice: A Short History of Abolition Debates”

·     Currently registered with the Centre for Internet and Society (Bangalore) as part of the RAW (Researchers at Work) programme, in collaboration with Nithin Manayath, to carry out research on the history of queerness and the internet.

·     Was on the organizing committee of the Bangalore Queer Film Festival, held at the Alliance Francaise, 2009
